How Rallynox started

Rallynox started with a simple problem: my daughter Mila would come off the court after a match, and by the time she talked to her coach about it, half of what actually happened was already gone. She’d remember the loss. She wouldn’t remember the three break points she saved in the second set, or the exact game her forehand started breaking down.

I wanted a way to keep a running record of her matches. Nothing fancy, just enough that nothing got lost between the court and the next practice.

Then Mila got serious. She started competing, her training ramped up, and “basic” stopped being enough. A running score didn’t tell her coach anything useful. What he actually needed was the same picture she and I had: how the match really went, point by point, not just who won.

So Rallynox became something else: a way for Mila, her coach, and me to all be looking at the same match, at the same time, instead of three different versions of what happened on Tuesday. That’s still the whole idea.

It’s grown from there. If it eventually helps other players and families stay just as aligned, that’s a welcome bonus. But it started, and still starts, with one player’s matches.
